We build frameworks to enable collaborative decision making, ensuring communities play an active role in the design and use of our research.

By integrating social science and indigenous knowledge, including Mātauranga Māori, into our research programmes, we ensure the outcomes of our activities deliver positive impact for communities. We develop tools that support strategic development of the bioeconomy, including decision-making in resource management, policy development, governance, regulation, economic modelling and community engagement. We also conduct research that identifies and analyses consumer, market and community expectations and behaviours to inform research programme design.
