The Bioeconomy Science Institute Maiangi Taiao (BSI) and its Employees are committed to taking proactive steps to achieve a working environment and remuneration system for all workers that is free from bias, discrimination and inequalities in employment and pay practices, and in which all can achieve their full potential.
Accordingly, Bioeconomy Science Institute will work with its Employees and the Public Service Association (PSA) to continue the mahi of our legacy organisations under the Kia Toi Poto Framework. Despite this framework officially concluding in 2024, we believe this work aligns with our commitment to upholding the principles of a good employer, ensuring equal opportunity, fair treatment and safe working conditions for all. We recognise the unique aspirations and needs of women, Māori, ethnic minorities and people with disabilities, and commit to eliminating structural barriers that create or perpetuate inequality.
As we bring the elements of our legacy Kia Toipoto plans together our staff can expect to see the continued setting and monitoring of an annual Gender Pay Equity Plan, analysis of pay gap data and the deployment of dedicated resources, including relevant training, to deliver Pay Equity outcomes.
We look forward to continuing this journey with you.
